Please look at the proposal from SUSD & the staffing committee. A tremendous amount of time was put into the creation of the concept on how to reduce financial costs yet still maintain programs in the fine arts in SUSD. At the staffing meetind scheduled on April 12th in the Kachina room at the MDA, we will go into further detail to the scheduling concept and discuss placements at the schools. These are difficult financial times, yet we want to be innovative and develop some changes to still keeps Fine Arts programs alive in SUSD.

A staffing survey is also attached. Please take a minute to fill out the survey and email it to me or send it to me at Janet Blum, Coronado PDC. Please do it as soon as possible so that we can develop placements for next year.

Laura B and Rachel H will do a workshop on Smart Board strategies and additional websites to use in the classroom. You will have the ooportunity to work on the computers and develop ideas and concepts.

Several meetings have been scheduled for Theater teachers to discuss Tech Theater, Auditorium usage, Concept Maps Curriculum, and Assessment

Two workshops for Fine Arts teachers that will focus on using the new laptops. Teachers will have the opportunity to make over lessons and develop new strategies in technology in the Fine Arts. All Fine Arts teachers ae invited even if you did not recieve a new laptop yet. Make sure you bring existing lessons to the workshop.

Band will be having several discipline meetings. The meetings will discuss assessment, curriculum materials and new innovative technology.

I am currently in the process of developing the Fine Arts website. It will include buttons for each discipline. Each discipline site will include standards, curriculum guidelines, assessment tools and lesson plan resources.
